"The Human Machine"

HumanMachine.jpg image by implosion3

What do you think when you see a person driving like a jerk on the streets? You may say: “What the hell is going on with this guy?” Or “He is surely drunk”, but what do you think when you see a person that could cause a lot of damages. “He is crazy let’s get away from him”, you may say, or “He surely has psychological problems”.

But, have you really thought that human body could be just as a machine, like a car, and what it controls it, is a kind of spirit or should I call it “soul”? It is kind of confusing, right? Because the religion says that the soul separates from the body when we die, so if somebody dies, can another soul use that body? Or the Mexican runner Ana Guevara has the one of the fastest “human machine” on earth?

Many people on earth believe that human body can be possessed by another force, it could be positive or negative force, but if that is true, what happens with the original soul? Maybe he decided to take a vacation, because he was very tired, or what?

I think that you should take care of what you have, material or “human” things, and it does not matter what “machine” you have, what really matters is what it has inside.

  1. I noticed some good points in your blog Nestor. The book states that maybe our body is a machine, which we are inside it, our soul controls it. I think only believers think this way. Even though, I think that it doesn’t matter if your body is a machine or not, you need to take care of it always because is what is physically present today, so until our life end, it doesn’t matter, you need to live with what you got.

  2. hi nestor! I like the picture that you used for this blog post because it is very related on your thoughts... meaning that the body is a machine. I agree with this statement, however in many other religions we've heard that you need to be in good quality of body, mind and spirit.. so I don't know but they might all be connected somehow.

  3. very good picture to ilustrate your point. I think that I could exemplify whats your point by saying that "whats the real thing that matters in a person driving a car, the driver or the ferrari hes drving?" the thing that will continue on in the hypothethic case the ferrari crashes and its unrepairable is the person driving, and that person would get another car. just like some people think souls control bodies.
    just my opinion
    greetings

  4. I agree with you, what really matters is what is on the inside, our soul or however you want to call it; but I also think that, specially nowadays, everyone cares more about the exterior, how we look or how much we own, I think that people don’t get themselves the time to look inside, and that is something that, in my opinion, needs to change.

  5. Nestor I liked your post, and I think that our soul is in our body, that they act as one thing together instead of acting separately. Even though we can't prove either theory I agree with you when you say that no matter what we are or how we work, we should take care of ourselves.
Also I want to complement the picture you choose for your post, its really original and I believe it helps us understand the idea of body and soul being a separate deal.
