When I say freedom, many things come to my mind, such as doing whatever I want, and chose my life path. But, are we really free? Can we make whatever we want? I don’t think so.
During this chapter, I learned many things that are real, and happen in our daily lives. Many people consider freedom, as having or making whatever they want. They are WRONG, because freedom is just the right to choose between different, but specified paths. But, what does that mean? For example, I say that I want one million dollars; I can choose the way I want to get them. I can work hard, or either rob a bank. I am free to choose, but this freedom is limited, because if I take the easy way, the country rules will arrest me, take my money away, and reduce my freedom. Newton said: “For every action there’s a reaction”, and that is true. I need to take the responsibility of my actions, and obey rules.
Another argument Savater said is that there are different kinds of freedoms, because one thing is what I want and another thing is to obtain it. I totally agree with him, because in Earth many people want many things, but they are limited to their possibilities. For example, many people want to have a Bugatti in their garage, but they can’t get it. They have the freedom to want, and to have. But, when we talk about possibilities, they can’t get what they want.
I liked how Nestor express himself in this blog talking about freedom. the quote he uses that said that every action have a reaction make us think as a person that weather is good or bad we will always see a difference in the world.
ResponderEliminarAnd when he used savater's point of view that there are different kinds of freedom it make us realize something that we didn't know that existed because we just think in one that we do whatever we want with our freedom.
nestor i like your post and that what you say about for every action there is a reaction is very important because i think people are not thinking in that when they make use of their freedom.
ResponderEliminarHi Nestor! I liked your post on this theme because you quoted Savater and you made an example about the types of freedom, which I found really hard to understand. Your example on the Bugatti made things clear to me. I think that once we know what we want with freedom and learn to choose with responsability... we can work in how to get the things we want without feeling guilty and also enjoy them.
ResponderEliminarHey Nestor, Nice work man!! I really get what you are talking about. I really like the part when you say that you want one million dollars, and that you are free to choose how you want to have that money, from to good way or the bad way. Freedom put us many paths to follow, that this paths are going to out actions that we want. Also the law that you say that for every action there is a reaction, that is completly true, and whether it is bad or good, there will be always a response to your action...
ResponderEliminarNestor, I really like all your posts. Its very good the relation you did between Newton's idea and freedom; "for every action there's a reaction". If we choose to do something, that something will bring consequences and we have to assume the responsibility of that consequences. Freedom doesn't mean to do whatever you want, but to have the right to choose from different things.
ResponderEliminarNestor, you should really you should really think about being a writer in the future I have read all of your posts and I like them all! You are right saying that we choose how to use freedom and that if we do something bad we should accept the consequences that the act may bring. Also good point when saying that many people consider freedom as doing what ever they want which of course they are wrong.
ResponderEliminarhola nestor!! me gusto mucho tu post esta muy interesante la parte que usas la ley de newton para explicar la libertad, y tienes razón no somos 100% libres si fuera así ¿Donde quedaría las responsabilidad?
